This 1970 Volvo 1800E is said to have been kept by the same family from 1971 to 2021, and in 2012 it underwent a refurbishment in New York. The exterior was stripped, rust was repaired, the floors were replaced, the exterior was refinished in blue, the interior was redone in black upholstery with brown carpeting, and the fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline-four was rebuilt. Equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, 15″ Cromodora Clover wheels, disc brakes, a locking console, and a Motorola AM/FM radio. Work was completed in 2014, at which point the car was stored. This P1800 was acquired by the selling dealer in November 2021 and is now offered with owner’s manuals, an owner identification card, sales paperwork, service records, handwritten logs, and a clean Virginia title.
The car was delivered new in Steel Blue Metallic (102). Receipts from The Corvette Shop Inc. of Montgomery, New York in 2012 indicate that the car was stripped; rust was repaired in the rocker panels, lower fenders, quarter panels, and tail section; the floors were replaced; and the exterior was refinished in base and clear coats. The blue paintwork is complemented by chrome-finished bumpers and trim.
Black 15″ Cromodora Clover wheels are equipped with chrome trim rings and mounted with Cooper tires. The four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled in 2012 and were recently serviced.
The interior was redone during the 2012 refurbishment and features black upholstery on the seating surfaces contrasted by brown carpeting. Equipment includes a locking console, woodgrain dash trim, and a Motorola solid-state AM/FM radio.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 79k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The fuel-injected 2.0-liter B20E inline-four was rebuilt in 2012. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
