This 1973 Saab 96 was delivered new to Sports Car Centre of Syracuse in East Syracuse, New York, and reportedly remained in the dealer’s ownership until 1990. The car was acquired by the current owner in September 2021, and it is finished in white over two-tone green upholstery. Power is provided by a 1.7-liter V4 mated to a column-shifted four-speed manual transaxle and a freewheel clutch. Equipment includes silver 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps, power-assisted front disc brakes, dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers with black bumperettes, rear splash guards, three-point front seat belts, and a VDO analog clock. This Saab 96 shows under 6k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin, previous sales documents, a car show dash plaque, manufacturer’s literature, and New Hampshire registration.

The car was finished in Polar White (W1B) from the factory and features chrome bumpers with black bumperettes, dual side mirrors, rear splash guards, and “V4” decklid badging. Areas of touch-up paint are noted, and additional close-up images showing the badging, lighting, and trim are include in the gallery below.

Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Saab-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series radial tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features front bucket seats with headrests and a rear bench trimmed in two-tone green upholstery with matching door panels. Appointments include green carpets, three-point front seat belts, a heater, a locking glove compartment, and a VDO analog clock

A black two-spoke steering wheel exhibits a peeling finish and frames a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates just under 6k miles.

The carbureted 1.7-liter Ford Taunus V4 was factory rated at 72 horsepower and 87 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle with a freewheel clutch.

Additional images showing the condition of the underside are included in the gallery below.

Documentation accompanying the car includes manufacturer’s literature, previous sales documents, and a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin that is shown above.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
