This 1985 Saab 900 SPG is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in black over tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ three-spoke alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a power-operated sunroof, power steering, cruise control, and power windows. The car previously spent time in Florida and was acquired by the seller in California in 2018. Subsequent work is said to have included fluid flushes and replacement of the tires, clutch, master cylinder, fuel pumps, radiator, battery, and various engine components. This first-year 900 SPG is now offered at no reserve with recent service records, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in black with anthracite lower cladding and features black impact bumpers, a rear spoiler, rear cabin vent covers, a power-retractable antenna, and a single exhaust outlet. Accident damage to the front of the car is noted on the Carfax report in June 1992, the seller states that the area where the driver’s door meets the hood has likely received bodywork in the past. Areas of faded, failed, and missing paint are shown in the gallery below along with rust in the door jambs, paint chips and scratches, and other blemishes.

Three-spoke 15″ alloy wheels wear Saab-branded center caps and are mounted with 185/65 Falken Sincera SN201 A/S tires. The car was equipped from the factory with power steering and SPG-specific front and rear anti-roll bars. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. Work carried out during current ownership included replacement of the axle boots and master cylinder.

The cabin features front buckets and a rear bench seat trimmed in tan leather with a matching lower dashboard and door panels. Amenities include power windows, cruise control, rear vent windows, and a rear window defogger. The air conditioning and the Clarion stereo do not work, the wood dash trim is cracked, the shifter boot is torn, the headliner is stained, and the black upholstery covering the dashboard has split seams.

The three-spoke steering wheels fronts a VDO 125-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and boost pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 105k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added during current ownership. The fuel-level gauge is said to function intermittently.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four sends power to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The catalytic converter was repaired in 2019 according to an entry on the Carfax report, and additional work carried out during current ownership included an oil change and replacement of the fuel pumps, fuel lines, sending unit, radiator and radiator hoses, thermostat, valve cover gasket, battery, oil pan guard, spark plug wires, and the distributor cap and rotor.

The seller notes an intermittent clunking sound when the car is driven in reverse and states that the suspension bushings need to be replaced. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery. Work performed during current ownership involved a transmission fluid flush and replacement of the clutch, clutch master cylinder, and clutch line.

Service records are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage and lists history in Florida and California from its initial entry in January 1992 through its most recent in June 2021. An open manufacturer’s recall related to a fuel line is also noted.
