This 1968 Volvo 1800S is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car was acquired by the seller in 2015 and has since received an alternator conversion and a PerTronix ignition. Additional equipment includes dual carburetors, an aluminum radiator, 15” wheels, front disc brakes, a driver-side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, vent windows, a heater, and a Pioneer cassette stereo. The ignition components and fuel pump are said to have been replaced in July 2022, at which time the carburetors were reportedly cleaned and synced. This 1800S is now offered at no reserve with a repair manual, spare parts, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The body left the factory in Gold Metallic (105) and was refinished in red with chrome brightwork under previous ownership. Exterior details include a left mirror, rubber rear wheel opening guards, LED exterior lights, and quarter vent windows. The front grille and front-right bumper trim are missing and the area surrounding the opening along with the front edge of the hood shows damage and was refinished in a similar shade of red. There are dents in trim pieces and blemishes throughout the paint finish along with bubbling and corrosion visible on the lower sides.

Silver-finished 15” wheels are mounted with Goodyear Assurance tires measuring 205/55. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The brakes were refreshed and the front control arm bushings were replaced in October 2017.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a folding rear bench upholstered in black vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and red carpeting. Bright metal trim and a Pioneer cassette stereo are found on the dash. The material on the driver’s and rear seats shows damage.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 35k miles, approximately 12k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The tachometer lens is cracked.

The 1.8-liter inline-four is equipped with dual carburetors, a PerTronix electronic ignition, and an aluminum radiator. An alternator conversion has also been performed and a July 2022 service is said to have included replacing the spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, and fuel pump along with cleaning and syncing the carburetors.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The seller notes there is a transmission fluid leak and reverse gear will intermittently disengage when in use.

The body stamping 183451026292 is shown above and is listed as the VIN on the current Oregon title.

A Weber carburetor and intake conversion comes with the car along with a repair manual and uninstalled parts.
