This 1989 Volvo 240 GL sedan is finished in Dark Blue Metallic over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes 14″ Corona wheels, a sunroof, an IPD skid plate, heated front seats, air conditioning, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The car has remained registered in California from new and was acquired in September 2022 by the seller, who reports that the timing belt, spark plugs, differential oil, and engine oil were replaced in preparation for the sale. This 240 shows 48k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Dark Blue Metallic (406-3) and features bright trim, a front spoiler, a manually operated sunroof, and a retractable antenna. The car was declared a “Total Loss Vehicle” by an insurance company following collision damage according to a February 2022 entry in the Carfax report, which also lists damage to the front in March 2022 and September 2022 entries. Photos at the end of the gallery below show damage before dent repairs, paint work in the left-front corner, and replacement of the left headlight and turn signal assemblies. The seller notes dents in the hood, a crack on the left taillight, and blemishes and scratches around the car.

Corona 14″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 185/70 Michelin Defender XT tires. A space-saver spare is stowed in the trunk. Stopping power is handled by four-wheel disc brakes, and the seller notes the front brakes were serviced in September 2022.

The heated front bucket seats and the rear bench are trimmed in black leather upholstery, while blue carpets and floor mats line the footwells. Appointments include air conditioning, power windows, an AM/FM cassette stereo, an analog clock, and a lockable glove compartment.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 48k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 2.3L SOHC inline-four sends power to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Service in 2022 is said to have included replacing the timing belt and spark plugs as well as changing the engine and differential oil.

An IPD aluminum skid plate is pictured in additional underside photos shown in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned total loss in February 2022 and lists history in California. There is a gap in entries between 1991 and 1997.
