This 1988 Volvo 240 sedan was registered in California before it was imported in 2001 to British Columbia, Canada, where it was acquired by the seller in 2015. It is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in white over blue cloth upholstery. Equipment includes Corona 14″ alloy wheels, a front spoiler, a Kenwood CD stereo, Pioneer speakers, and air conditioning. Work since 2022 included performing an oil change and replacing the windshield, tires, rear trailing arms, the serpentine belt, and a rear brake caliper according to the seller. This 240 shows 298k miles and is now offered at no reserve with service records, spare parts, and Ontario registration.
The car is finished in white with bright trim, a front spoiler, grille badges, mud flaps, and a retractable antenna. The windshield was replaced in 2022 following rust repairs around its frame. Stone chips, cracked paint, areas of corrosion, and other flaws are pictured below in close-up photos of the body panels and trim.
Corona 14″ alloy wheels show pitting and wear 185/70 Toyo tires that were mounted in preparation for the sale. Stopping power is handled by four-wheel disc brakes. The seller reports that IPD sway bars were fitted during current ownership, and a rear brake caliper was replaced along with rear trailing arms in preparation for the sale.
The interior features seats trimmed in blue cloth along with a color-coordinated lower dashboard, door panels, and carpets. A Kenwood CD stereo with USB connectivity is noted along with Pioneer speakers on the parcel shelf, and the air conditioning system is said to have been converted to r134a refrigerant after the seller acquired the car. Flaws on the upholstery, cracks on the dashboard, and broken plastic trim pieces are shown in the gallery below. Wind noise during highway speeds is documented in a video below.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and readouts for fuel level and coolant temperature. A quartz clock is mounted to the right of the instrument cluster beside auxiliary gauges that have been added, which include an oil pressure gauge that is not connected. The six-digit odometer shows 298k miles, approximately 36k of which were added under current ownership. The trip-meter reset button is missing, and the Carfax report lists a potential odometer rollback in September 2003 after miles on the odometer were recorded as kilometers.
The 2.3-liter SOHC inline-four was factory rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. The timing belt was most recently replaced in 2015 according to the Carfax report. The serpentine belt and battery have reportedly been replaced and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. Rust is visible on the hood cowl.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The clutch assembly makes a squealing sound intermittently. Rust is visible on the underside components, and additional underbody photos are included in the gallery.
The Carfax report has the aforementioned potential odometer rollback, shows no accidents or damage, and lists history in California, British Columbia, and Ontario.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles. It is being sold on its Ontario registration.
