This 1989 Volvo 240 sedan is finished in white over blue cloth upholstery and is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes mudguards, power steering, 14″ steel wheels with aerodynamic covers, an Alpine CD stereo, and air conditioning. The car was purchased by the seller in 2014, and work performed since 2021 has included servicing the air conditioning and replacing the tires, brake components, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, exhaust, drive belts, and valve cover gasket. This 240 sedan is now offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The 14″ steel wheels wear silver aerodynamic covers and are mounted with 185/70 Laufenn tires that were fitted in May 2021. The car was factory-equipped with power steering as well as a MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle carried by longitudinal control arms and torque rods with coil springs. Stopping is provided by power-assisted front and rear discs. The front and rear brake components were replaced in 2022, and the master cylinder was replaced in October 2023.
The seating surfaces are trimmed in blue cloth, and interior appointments include a rear bench, an Alpine CD stereo, a center console, and air conditioning, the latter of which was serviced in 2024. The dashboard is cracked and broken door trim is noted by the seller.
The four-spoke steering wheel wears a cover and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows ~176,900 miles, although the Carfax report lists an odometer reading of miles ~177,200 in a December 2022 entry. The seller states that the odometer stopped working in 2011. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.3-liter inline-four was factory rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque of torque. The engine mounts were replaced in 2017, the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the distributor cap and rotor were replaced in 2021, the exhaust was replaced in 2022, and the drive belts and valve cover gasket were replaced in 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. There is corrosion on the underside components.
The Carfax report lists an odometer reading of ~177,200 miles in December 2022.
