This 1975 Volvo 164E is a final-production-year example that the current owner acquired in February 2024 as a non-running project. Subsequent work included repairing the electrical, vacuum, and cooling systems as well as repainting the car in white and replacing the tires along with various front suspension components. Power is provided by a fuel-injected 3.0-liter B30 inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is equipped with 16″ steel wheels, dual side mirrors, power windows, air conditioning, an Alpine CD stereo, and front bucket seats upholstered in brown vinyl. Now showing 242k miles, this 164E is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a clean Delaware title.
The four-door body left the factory finished in Caribbean Red (117-1), and it was repainted white following the current owner’s acquisition. Exterior details include bright bodyside moldings, dual side mirrors, black-accented bumpers, and mudflaps. The horn was repaired and the grills were replaced in preparation for the sale. The 16″ steel wheels are finished in silver with bright trim rings, and they were mounted with 195/65 Ironman iMove PT tires in 2024. Various front suspension components were also replaced at that time.
The front bucket seats and the rear bench are trimmed in brown vinyl, and they are joined by color-coordinated carpeting and door panels. The cabin is further appointed with air conditioning, power windows, a dash-mounted analog clock, an ambient temperature gauge, and an Alpine CD head unit connected to speakers of the same brand mounted into the parcel shelf.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a a 130-mph speedometer and a central tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. The gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level were repaired in preparation for the sale. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 242k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the current owner.
The 3.0-liter B30 inline-six features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 175 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The current owner acquired the car in a non-running state, and work since has involved performing repairs to the electrical, vacuum, and cooling systems as well as flushing the fuel system, re-sealing the fuel regulator, changing the oil, and replacing the battery.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is visible on various underside components.
