This 1986 Volvo 240 DL sedan is finished in yellow over brown cloth upholstery and is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The car rides on 14″ steel wheels and is further equipped with power steering, tinted glass, heated front bucket seats, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller acquired the car on BaT in May 2020, and subsequent work included performing wiring repairs and replacing the shift-linkage bushings along with the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump relay, and spark plugs. This 240 sedan is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a factory build sheet, service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in yellow with black bumpers, mudguards, and lower cladding. Further exterior details include bright bodyside moldings, tinted glass, and manually adjustable side mirrors with black housings. The windshield washer pump was replaced in June 2022.
The 14″ pressed steel wheels are mounted with 185/70 Barum Brillantis 2 tires. The car was factory-equipped with power steering as well as a MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle carried by longitudinal control arms and torque rods with coil springs. Stopping is provided by power-assisted front and rear discs. The brake fluid was flushed in April 2024, and the steering rack was replaced in 2019. The seller notes the trim rings will be included in the sale.
The heated front bucket seats are upholstered in brown cloth that extends to the rear bench and portions of the door panels. The cabin is appointed with color-coordinated all-weather floor mats, a fold-down rear center console, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller notes the tuning knob on the radio does not work consistently.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. The odometer had stopped working and was subsequently repaired during time with a previous owner, therefore true mileage is unknown. The Carfax report states that Not Actual Mileage titles were issued in Arizona in 2014 as well as in Maryland in 2020.
The 2.3-liter inline-four was factory rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. The valve cover gasket was replaced in 2019, and work since December 2020 has involved performing various wiring repairs and replacing the fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator, battery, and spark plugs.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The plastic cladding protecting the underside of the engine was replaced in May 2020 along with the shift-linkage bushings.
Manufacturer’s literature will accompany the car along with a factory build sheet and service records.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage and contains the aforementioned entries stating that Not Actual Mileage titles have been issued.
