This 1962 Volvo P1800 is finished in red over black vinyl with plaid cloth inserts and powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The seller purchased the car in 2016 and a subsequent refresh has included repainting the bodywork, reupholstering the interior, rebuilding the engine, carburetors, and gauge cluster, overhauling the brakes and suspension, installing a stainless steel exhaust system and Dayton wire wheels, and replacing the clutch assembly. This P1800 is now offered with service records and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in red in 2020 and the door and window seals were replaced. The windshield was replaced in 2015, and the seller notes that some of the brightwork has been re-plated.
The seller added 15″ Dayton wire wheels and they are mounted with Firestone Precision Touring whitewall tires manufactured in 2015. The seller notes that the suspension and brakes have been overhauled during their ownership.
The seller reupholstered the cabin in black vinyl with plaid seat inserts. The carpets have also been replaced.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a suite of auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, approximately 3k of which were added during current ownership. The speedometer, tachometer, and temperature gauge have been rebuilt, and the speedometer reads approximately 10% low. Total mileage is unknown.
A 2.0-liter B20 inline-four has been installed and it was rebuilt in March 2020. The twin SU carburetors were also rebuilt, and a stainless steel exhaust system is installed.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Ford T9 five-speed manual transmission. The clutch assembly was replaced in 2017.
