This 1962 Volvo P1800 (chassis 3687) is an early Jensen bodied car that received a full restoration back in 2001. The seller has owned the car for 16 years, and has taken it on many long trips with no issues. They further claim that it starts easily and runs very well in city traffic, as well as on the highway, thanks in part to an ignition upgrade. A numbers-matching example, it shows very well in photos and sounds ready to go. Find it here on eBay in Louisville, Kentucky with reserve not met.
The car was resprayed in 2001, and while the majority of paint shows very well, there are a few small blemishes visible here and there, as well as some minor bubbling on the rear fender arches. Glass is said to be original, but has a few scattered pits. Most trim looks good, though some mild aging is apparent in spots. Panasports always look good on these cars, but the original wheels will also be included.
The handsome red and black interior reportedly received a freshening just last year, and is one of the nicer we’ve seen recently. Wilton wool carpeting was used throughout the cabin, and the seats were also rebuilt and show correct patterns. There isn’t much to gripe about here, as most everything looks to be in order and nearly factory-fresh. The horn and radio are the only items noted to be non-functional. Check out the key chain.
The B18 is said to be numbers-matching, and still wears the twin Weber carb setup it left the factory with. The motor does have a leak or two, but the seller says that they’re minimal, and that it runs very well regardless. Mileage is shown at 55k and change, and the four wears a few newer mods such as an aftermarket distributor and coil, as well as a stainless exhaust. Suspension has been completely gone through and replaced with GCP OEM style components, and a full cloth braided wiring harness has been installed.
Jensen cars are much harder to come by given their limited production numbers, and this one looks and sounds to be a very good example with some well-chosen upgrades. We even like the color combo.
