This 1975 Volvo 245 DL runs a corporate 16 valve twin cam turbo four, T-5 5-speed, huge Brembos, and heavily upgraded suspension. The seller says it’s served as their daily driver and road trip car for the past three years, and they add that it’s ready to be driven anywhere in the country. The car wears a Euro grille and flat hood conversion, and bug shields over the quad lights are an interesting and rarely seen accessory. It sits low over 17″ ESR wheels, enabled by heavily upgraded suspension, a few details of which include boxed control and trailing arms, adjustable torque rods and Panhard bar, fully poly bushings, custom coilovers with custom valved Bilstein inserts and IPD sway bars. Rust shows along the rear side windows, and is beginning to look pretty worrisome–it should be tended to ASAP to prevent things from getting out of control.
The interior features a nice set of Bride seats in front, and behind the wood rimmed Personal steering wheel sits an incredibly cool motorsports style Volvo R-Sport gauge cluster. The dash looks to be free of cracks, and the auxiliary instrument cluster houses gauges for boost, oil pressure and wideband O2. Dark brown door panels and what’s likely the original rear bench all look to be in nice shape, though the cargo area is pretty thrashed.
Power comes from a later twin cam, 16 valve turbo four running Bosch-based standalone management, and power is routed rearwards through a Mustang sourced T-5 onto an Eaton True-Trac LSD with 3.91 gears. The custom three-inch exhaust is said to sound amazing.
Brakes are massive 13″ items front and rear, with six and four piston Brembo calipers, respectively. Says the seller: “This has been my daily use vehicle for three years, and I’ve made frequent road trips to Tahoe and Los Angeles in this car. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across country.”
