This 1984 Saab 99 is a good looking final year example that’s said to be “without defects” despite having racked up 216k miles over the past 33 years or so. Condition does look to be unusually good throughout, and this pleasant factory light blue always works well on 99’s. The seller says it’s been dealer maintained, and sale includes a large collection of receipts. Find it here on mobile.de in Trier, Germany for 7,500 euros (-$8,400 USD today). Paintwork looks like factory code 112B Slate Blue, and appears to be holding a decent shine. Bumpers, body rub strips and window trim still look good, and don’t show any serious sun damage. We haven’t seen turbine alloy wheels like these before, but they’re both suitably funky and period correct. The darker blue interior looks similarly well preserved. Velour seating fabrics don’t show much wear, and carpets peeking under the rubber mats seem to be pretty good as well. The dash retains all its switchgear, we don’t see any cracking or fading up top, and woodgrain appliques seem to be holding up too. A CD player has been fitted, but otherwise the cabin remains stock. The H-series four found in ’82-’84 models displaced 1985cc, and sent power to the front through a 5-speed transaxle. Typical reservoir yellowing and some light dust aside, the bay looks good under Saab’s once-signature clamshell, forward-sliding/tilting hood. Most any pre-GM Saab gets a thumbs-up from us, and though not an EMS or Turbo variant, this one should still provide a boatload of character and practicality for the next owner.
