This 1979 Saab 99 Turbo was acquired by the seller as a road car in 2011 and then modified for rally use by Carestoration in Greece. The turbocharged 2.0L inline-four was rebuilt within FIA regulations and is paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. The bodyshell was strengthened and safety is provided by an FIA-approved roll cage, race seats with harnesses, and a fire suppression system. In 2012, the car was used as a safety vehicle in two Greek National Rally events. This Saab 99 is offered in Ipswich, United Kingdom, with photos documenting the build and a Greek log book. This car was built by Carestoration in Greece in 2011 to replicate a 1977-1981 Group A rally car and competes in FIA class CT35 with a valid FIA Historic Technical Passport. The bodyshell was stripped and reinforced with additional welds, and photos documenting the process are in the gallery. The seller states that the front valence is removable to simplify engine access and the front engine mount was reinforced. Spare wheels, tires, suspension arms, and shock absorbers are included with the car. Occupant safety is provided by a 12-point roll cage, race seats with harnesses, and a fire suppression system. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The turbocharged 2.0L inline-four engine was rebuilt in 2011 in accordance with FIA regulations and is said to produce around 180 horsepower. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.  Other changes include a competition exhaust, aluminum sump guard, oil cooler, and the final drive ratio can be altered by replacing a gear on the front of the engine. All fluids were changed in 2016. The car uses Bilstein and Spax shock absorbers, and the front lower wishbones were boxed for added strength and the camber and caster were changed. Aeroquip brakes hoses are used along with strengthened half-shafts. Since being completed in 2011, the car was used as a safety car in two Greek National Rally events in 2012.
