This 1992 Saab 900 Convertible was sold new at BMW Saab of Darien in Connecticut and first registered in New York, where it has resided since. The seller purchased the car in June of 2017 from the second owner and has driven it approximately 1,500 miles. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four backed by a 5-speed manual transmission, and the car has recently received an A/C system service, an oil/filter change, and a new soft top. Records from the last two years show services performed by the previous and current owners, and the car is being sold with its original manuals, spare wheel and tire, a clean Carfax, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name. The Talladega Red (219) paint is believed to be original, with exception of a touched-up area along the edge of the hood and an area below the battery. A number of matching body panel VIN tags can be seen in the gallery below, though the rear bumper was repainted by a previous owner. Flaws include a few small scratches on the front bumper, and a crease on the driver-side rear quarter panel that has been repaired with paintless dent removal. The black soft top was replaced in July 2017. The front brake rotors and pads were replaced in 2016, and the stock 15″ 3-spoke wheels remain in place. Records show the Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires were installed in August of 2016, though they carry a DOT code from July 2013. The black upholstery is complimented by cloth inserts on the door panels and rear speaker housings. In August of 2017 the seats were treated with Leatherique restoration product. Some wear is present on the driver’s seat, and there is a crack in the dash on the corner of the coin tray. The seller reports that the heated seat function is not working and cruise control is intermittent. The original Clarion radio and CD player is intact, but the CD player skips. 53,065 miles are shown on the odometer. The turbocharged B202 inline-four is unmodified beneath the clamshell hood. The 2.0-liter 16-valve engine delivers power through a 5-speed manual gearbox and utilizes a Mitsubishi TE-05 turbo, Bosch LH Jetronic fuel injection system, and Saab’s APC boost controller. Service performed by the previous owner over the last two years include the following: 5/20/15 – 47,776 miles – Brake light circuit board repaired, steering column bushing replaced, oil/filter change 10/12/15 – 49,440 miles – New Interstate battery 10/22/15 – 49,490 miles – Transmission oil replaced, A/C and power steering belts replaced 11/13/15 – 49,703 miles – Thermostat and bypass valve replaced, coolant changed, antenna mast replaced 8/18/16 – 51,303 miles – Fuel filter and spark plugs replaced, A/C recharged 7/31/17 – 51,712 miles – A/C system serviced with new receiver, expansion valve, o-ring, and recharge, oil/filter changed Several photos showing the condition of the undercarriage can be seen in the image gallery below. The Carfax report confirms New York ownership from new and verifies mileage with nine odometer readings from 1992 to 2016. Included service records date back to May of 2015, and the car comes with a plastic soft top cover, original Nokian spare tire and wheel, the original tool kit, owner’s manuals, equipment guides, two sets of keys with one working remote for the keyless entry/alarm system, and unused anti-theft device stickers.
