This 1967 Volvo 1800S was sold new at Don Beyer Volvo in Falls Church, Virginia and was acquired from the second owner by the seller’s husband in 1993. The body is finished in Pearl White over a black interior interior. Power comes from a 1800cc engine equipped with dual carburetors and backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The most recent service included installing a new battery, replacing all four tires, an oil change, all new fluids, and brake hoses. This Volvo is described as a running and driving project and is now being offered with a clean Virginia title. The body is finished in Pearl White (79) and the seller believes the paint to be largely original. Various paint chips and imperfections are visible throughout and some are documented in the photo gallery below. The trunk does not latch properly and needs to be repaired. The 15″ steel wheels include the correct hubcaps and wear newer Nexen tires at all four corners. The brake hoses were replaced in August 2017, and the car features power-assisted brakes. 1967 was the final year to not feature US market side reflectors. In 1963, production was moved from West Bromwich, England to Volvo’s Lundby Plant in Gothenburg, Sweden and the name was changed from P1800 to 1800S for Sverige (Sweden). The black interior remains largely intact and unmodified with exception of a starter button that replaced the factory ignition. 1967 was the final year of the two-spoke steering wheel, while splits are noted on the upper and lower dashboard. The odometer shows 69,233 miles. The B18 1800cc inline-four features dual carburetors and a service in August included a new Interstate battery, an oil and filter change, as well as all new fluids. Factory power output was rated at 115 hp with a reported top speed of 109 mph. A 4-speed M41 manual gearbox with overdrive routes power to the rear wheels. Several photos of the underbody can be viewed in the gallery below detailing the condition of the suspension, exhaust, drivetrain, and chassis.
