This 1984 Volvo 240 is a modified example that was bought new at Leo Payne Imports in Denver, Colorado by the seller’s mother and passed down on his 16th birthday in 2003. Finished in light blue over a blue cloth interior, the car is powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder and backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. Suspension and braking modifications include a set of Volvo Polaris wheels, Koni adjustable dampers, Eibach springs, larger sway-bars, an adjustable track bar, Volvo S60R calipers and rotors up front, and all new OEM suspension bushings. The interior has been upgraded with a Blaupunkt CD147 Denver head unit, JL Audio speakers, and a three spoke Momo steering wheel. An oil and filter change were completed in January 2017 and this 240 is now being offered with a clean Alabama title. The light blue finish shows wear and the seller notes paintwork on the driver’s side fender and decklid, as well as some rust-through on the rear doglegs shown in the gallery. The front brakes were replaced with Volvo S60R calipers and rotors, while stock discs have been retained at the rear. A GRP Group A spoiler has been added, along with 32% window tint all around. A set of genuine 17″ Volvo Polaris wheels wear Hankook tires at all four corners and suspension modifications include GRP strut mounts, adjustable Koni yellow dampers, Eibach springs, boxed control arms, IPD 25mm front and rear sway bars, adjustable sway bar links and torque rods, as well as all new Volvo suspension bushings. The blue interior has been upgraded with a Blaupunkt CD147 Denver head unit, JL Audio speakers front and rear, rubber floor mats, a three spoke Momo steering wheel, and an electronic interior/exterior temperature gauge. Power is routed through an M46 4-speed manual with electronic overdrive, and per the seller, the unit is reluctant to go into overdrive and a replacement is recommended. A dash pad has been added and the seller notes a few hairline cracks underneath. The A/C has been deleted and the odometer shows 187k miles. The 2.3-liter inline-four has been modified with a B camshaft from an earlier B21 engine and is said to produce more low-end torque. An oil change was completed in January 2017. A few photos of the underbody can been seen in the gallery below detailing the condition of the aftermarket suspension, exhaust, and overall condition of the chassis.
