This 1972 Volvo 1800ES is finished in red over black leather and powered by a fuel-injected 2.0L inline-four mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The owner acquired the car two years ago and has since added just 500 of its 103k indicated miles. Work performed in 2017 included new engine gaskets, cooling system maintenance, cosmetic freshening, and more. This ES is offered by the selling dealer on behalf of its owner with recent records and a clean Texas title. The data plate indicates red (46) as the original color. A repaint is said to have been commissioned by a previous owner in Georgia, and has recently been professionally buffed according to the seller. Stainless steel mirrors are mounted on the doors, and the bumpers and other stainless trim have recently been polished. LED headlights and taillights have been added. Stock wheels have been refinished in clear coated silver and wear polished trim rings. New 195/60R 15 Road Hugger GT radials have been fitted. Factory glass is said to be present with the exception of the windshield. A brief, close-up video of the paint finish can be seen here. The firewall option plate shows upholstery code 440-815, which indicates a black interior with red carpeting. Front bucket seats have recently been covered in leather, while the fold-down rear seat retains its factory-style vinyl. Black carpeting has replaced the original red. The stock 3-spoke steering wheel fronts a dash housing Smiths gauges and capped with an original-style pad. The air conditioning system is said to function, and a later JVC cassette player resides in the factory radio location. The 6-digit odometer shows approximately 104k miles. The fuel-injected 2.0L B20F four was serviced in 2017 with new rear main and crankshaft seals as well as a replacement valve cover gasket. A new water pump, thermostat, and cooling hoses have been installed, and the system was filled with fresh coolant. An electronic ignition system and new coil were added, reportedly causing the tachometer to become inoperative. Header pipes have been wrapped to shield engine components from heat, and a new fuel filter is in place. Compression readings of 110-112 psi are reported by the seller. New brake lines and hoses were fitted and the system was flushed with DOT 3 fluid. The seller describes newer KYB shocks all around, recently replaced front sway bar bushings, and fresh gear oil in the differential. The factory rear axle limiting straps are noted as intact. Additional undercarriage photos are available in the gallery below, as well as an undercarriage video. The walk-around video above, and the chassis video below have been provided by the seller.
