This 1987 Volvo 240 DL is finished in white over a charcoal cloth interior and powered by a fuel-injected 2.3L inline-four mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Upgrades include lowering springs, sway bars, and a cat-back sport exhaust sourced from iPd. The seller believes himself to be the car’s third owner and has added approximately 2,500 of its 109k indicated miles since acquiring it in March of this year. This 240 is offered at no reserve with partial service records, a clean Carfax report, a bill of sale, and Maine registration in the seller’s name. Shell White (600) paintwork is displayed up close in the gallery below. The seller notes nicks and chips around the bodywork and front air dam. E-code headlamps have been installed in place of the factory units along with a new set of tail light housings. Exterior and interior tours are provided in the video above. The replacement 14″ Corona wheels were powder coated in gunmetal grey before being fitted with new 195/60 General Altimax RT tires in July 2018. An alignment was also completed along with installation of new rear brake calipers and pads. Suspension upgrades include iPd lowering springs and front and rear sway bars. The interior features heated charcoal grey cloth seats and black carpets. Aftermarket upgrades include a Kenwood CD player, Polk Audio speakers behind factory grilles, teak dash trim, and metal window crank handles. Noted issues include a cracked driver’s door map pocket, inoperable tachometer, malfunctioning turn signal switch, and air conditioning that does not blow cold. A leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel is fitted, and the stock wheel will also be included along with a large factory tachometer. Approximately 109k miles are displayed on the 6-digit odometer. The 2.3-liter “Redblock” four was rated at 114 horsepower when new and is linked to the rear wheels through an M47 5-speed manual transmission. The previous owner completed an electric fan conversion and installed a new radiator according to the seller, while an oil and filter change was completed in August of this year. Several photos are provided to illustrate condition of the chassis, underbody, and suspension components. The Carfax shows a clean accident history from 1992-2018 and records time spent in New Hampshire and Maine. The car will come with a bill of sale and Maine registration, as the state does not title vehicles of this age. A short driving sequence is shown in the above video, and drive-by is viewable here.
