This 1972 Volvo 142 previously resided in Richmond, California and was acquired by the seller last year with a blown engine. Since then the seller has installed a replacement B20 inline-four with D-Jetronic fuel injection and fitted a new water pump, fuel lines, and front brake hoses. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission and is finished in pale blue over a blue cloth interior. This 142 is offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Per the seller, the car appears to have been repainted in the original color. Wear through is visible at the rear corner as shown above, and blistering is pictured below the taillights. The car retains factory US-market lighting and bumpers with rubber impact strips.

A strip of rust at the leading edge of the hood is covered with a strip of gaffer tape. Factory steel wheels are fitted with hubcaps, and the seller notes that the tires are older.

The cabin features blue cloth upholstery with matching carpets contrasted by black interior plastics and all-weather floor mats. The car was reportedly stored outdoors for several years, resulting in sun-fading on the upper seats. Wear is also visible on both door panels. The door limit strap on the passenger door is broken.

Air conditioning hardware is present under the dash, though the included compressor was not reinstalled when the replacement engine was installed. Factory instrumentation includes a bar-style 120-mph speedometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and a 6-digit mechanical odometer. The seller notes that the dash lights do not work, and approximately 97k miles are shown.

The previous engine had a thrown rod, and the seller has since installed a replacement 2.0L B20 inline-four from a running parts car. The engine is equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection, and was factory rated at 135 horsepower. The seller also replaced the water pump and fuel lines during the installation.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission. New rubber brake hoses were fitted at the front. Additional photos detail the floors, suspension components, exhaust, and more.
