This 1967 Volvo 122S is a 2-door model finished in a factory Dark Green over a light brown interior. It was reportedly sold new at Economy Cars LTD in Kansas City, Missouri and was relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2016. It has been re-powered with a B20 inline-four, which is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. Upgrades include a Weber carburetor, Abarth exhaust, electronic ignition, and a set of IPD sway bars. A routine fluid change and tune up were performed in preparation for the sale, and this Amazon is now being offered with some service records and a clear Washington title in the seller’s name.
The body was refinished in the factory Dark Green at some point in the past. Driving lights have been added to the front bumper and wear a set of Volvo covers. A few imperfections are noted by the seller, including two rust bubbles near the body seam on the rocker panel.
The 15” factory wheels come wrapped in a set of 195/60 Firestone Firehawk All Season tires with a reported 500 miles of use. Larger-diameter sway bars from IPD have been installed at each end.
Replacement door panels, front seat upholstery, and carpet from VP Autoparts have been installed. Closeups of the back seat, dash, and parcel shelf are provided in the gallery below. An uninstalled replacement headliner accompanies the sale.
Auxiliary gauges, including a tachometer, oil pressure, and engine temperature gauge, are mounted above and below the dash. The ignition switch is reportedly aftermarket. 29k miles are shown on the odometer, and actual mileage is unknown.
The original B18 inline-four has been replaced with a more powerful B20, which comes equipped with a 4-1 tube header and Abarth Sport exhaust, as well as a single Weber downdraft carburetor on an aftermarket aluminum intake manifold. A recent compression test revealed between 155-160 psi in cylinders 1 through 4 as shown in the gallery below. Power is routed through a 4-speed M40 manual gearbox.
Underside photos have been provided, and the seller’s driving and walk-around video is attached below.
