This 1974 Saab Sonett III was refurbished in the late 1990s by Indy Saab of Indianapolis, Indiana, and is finished in yellow over black vinyl and gray fabric upholstery. Power is from a 1.7-liter V4 paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment consists of 15” “soccer ball” wheels, a roll bar, pop-up headlights, chrome-accented black rubber bumpers, a JVC AM/FM cassette stereo, and body-color mirror caps. The car was acquired around two years ago by the current owner, and subsequent work reportedly included servicing the water pump and timing gears. This Sonett is now offered on dealer consignment with 1999 service records and a clean Florida title.

The car was repainted its current shade of yellow during the refurbishment performed in the 1990s according to the selling dealer. Exterior features include chrome-accented black rubber bumpers, pop-up headlamps, and body-color mirror caps. Areas of corrosion on the trunk lid are noted and can be seen up close in the gallery below, along with cracks on the inner left door post.

The 15” “soccer ball” wheels are mounted with 165-width Hercules 425 Metric tires, and a full-size spare is found in the rear storage area. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The seats are trimmed in black vinyl with gray fabric inserts, while black carpets line the floors. Equipment includes a roll bar, a passenger-side grab handle, flip-down sun visors, and a JVC AM/FM cassette stereo wired to a JVC speaker unit in the rear storage area.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body color-accented gauge cluster housing Saab-branded VDO instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 74k miles, around 100 of which have been added during current ownership.

The 1.7-liter Ford Taunus V4 is topped by a single carburetor and yellow-painted valve covers. Work during current ownership is said to have included servicing of the water pump and timing gears.

Power is sent to the front wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
