This 1963 Volvo PV544 Sport was refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in December 2018. The car has been refinished in black over red vinyl upholstery, and it is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, chrome-finished bumpers, pop-out rear quarter windows, steel wheels, a heater, and rubber Volvo floor mats. This PV544 Sport is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a factory jack, a hub cap removal tool, and a California title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in black (19) and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior features include chrome-finished bumpers and trim, a left side mirror, a stationary radio antenna, Volvo-branded rear mud flaps, and a locking gas cap. There are scratches on the left fender and corrosion on the rear window frames, and other blemishes can be seen in the gallery below.

Body-color 15″ steel wheels feature polished trim rings and hubcaps, and are mounted with 165/80 Nankang CX-668 tires. A spare is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.

The interior features front bucket seats, a rear bench, and door panels that have been reupholstered to match the factory red vinyl (43-221). Other appointments include a heater, a lockable glove compartment, a 10-piece Volvo rubber floor mat set, and three-point front seat belts. Sound-deadening material has been installed under the floor mats, and the car is fitted with an aftermarket ignition switch.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a ribbon-style 120-mph speedometer and supplemental gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.8-liter B18 inline-four features dual SU carburetors, blue air cleaners, and an exhaust manifold that is said to have been powder-coated during refurbishment. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a synchronized M40 four-speed manual transmission. A replacement exhaust system and fuel tank were installed during the aforementioned refurbishment. Rust is visible on the spare tire well, which can be seen in the gallery along with additional photos of the underside.

Decoding the data plate reveals the following information:

  • 11244-D  – Model 544 equipped with B18D engine
  • 389317 – Chassis number
  • 19 – Black paint
  • 43-221 – Interior upholstered in red

Manufacturer’s literature, a stamped maintenance booklet, a factory jack, and a hub cap removal tool are included in the sale.

The current California title is listed as a duplicate.
