This 1974 Husqvarna 250 CR was acquired by the seller in 2014, and a subsequent three-year refurbishment that was completed in 2020 involved an overhaul of its magnesium-cased 245cc two-stroke single along with refinishing the fuel tank in chrome with red paint and powder-coating the frame, brake hubs, fork legs, engine cases, and expansion chamber. Additional work included lacing the Akront rims with stainless-steel spokes and replacing the clutch plates, brake shoes, fenders, number plates, and tires. The bike is further equipped with a five-speed transmission, a Bing concentric carburetor, a chrome cross-braced handlebar, Magura controls, a Gunnar Gasser throttle, and a black vinyl seat. This 250 CR is now offered at no reserve in Montana for off-road use only with a bill of sale.

The 1.85-gallon fuel tank has been re-chromed and finished with red paint and white Husqvarna graphics while the half-duplex cradle frame and swingarm have been powder-coated silver. Equipment includes raised white plastic fenders, green number plates, a black vinyl seat, and a silver-finished air cleaner cover adorned with a decal honoring Grand-Prix-winning factory rider Heikki Mikkola. A close-up photo showing dings in the tailpipe can be viewed in the gallery.

Polished 21″ front and 18″ rear Akront alloy rims were laced to black powder-coated drum-brake hubs using heavy-duty stainless-steel spokes and mounted with Dunlop Sports K139 front and K690A rear knobby tires during the refurbishment. Suspension is provided by a conventional telescopic fork with black powder-coated sliders as well as a swingarm with a pair of Girling-style adjustable shocks.

The chrome cross-braced handlebar is equipped with Pro Grips, a Gunnar Gasser side-pull throttle, and Magura levers with black rubber dust covers. The 250 CR did not come equipped with an odometer or other instrumentation, therefore true mileage is unknown.

The 245cc piston-port two-stroke single features black powder-coated magnesium cases, and is equipped with a 36mm Bing concentric carburetor, a magnesium reed valve cage, a kick starter, and a high-mounted black powder-coated expansion chamber with a perforated heat shield and an integrated silencer with replacement packing. The engine underwent an overhaul during the refurbishment that included boring the cylinder .040″ over, installing Boyesen Power Reeds, fitting a Motoplat electronic ignition, and replacing the piston, ring, and bearings. The bike has reportedly not been started or ridden since completion of the refurbishment.

The bike is equipped with a close-ratio five-speed transmission and a wet clutch that was fitted with replacement plates during the refurbishment.

The seller states that the frame number has been obscured by powder-coating and that the engine data plate is missing. The bike does not have a title or registration and is being sold on a bill of sale only.
