This 1959 Volvo PV544 Sport was refurbished prior to the seller’s 2014 purchase out of Louisiana. The car has been refinished in red over gray cloth upholstery, and it is powered by a 1,580cc inline-four that is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 15″ vented steel wheels, aftermarket front bucket seats, a bright grille, pop-out rear windows, Volvo-branded rear mud flaps, a cabin heater, and three-point front seatbelts. Previously offered on BaT in November 2024, this PV544 is now offered again at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in red under prior ownership and features a bright grille, front vent windows, an antenna, bright bumpers, and rear Volvo-branded mud flaps. Cracking paint and other imperfections can be viewed in the gallery.
Body-color 15″ vented steel wheels wear hubcaps, trim rings, and whitewall radial tires. A spare tire is mounted in the trunk. Braking is handled by drums at each corner that reportedly received new pads, shoes, and lines in late 2023.
Replacement high-backed bucket seats have been installed and are trimmed in gray cloth. Three-point seat belts are in place for the front occupants, and the rear shelf features a red-vinyl Volvo logo. An aftermarket headlight switch has been added. The headliner is stained.
The wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph ribbon-style speedometer and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 750 of which were added under current ownership. The Volvo steering wheel center cap is broken and not attached properly.
The 1,580cc B16B inline-four is equipped with dual carburetors. The oil was changed last year, and the spark plus were replaced in late-2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
