This 1960 Volvo PV445 Duett was purchased from a private owner in the Netherlands and imported to Canada in 2008. It was previously owned by a paint shop in the city of Bavel, and wears custom signage above the split windshield and on the roof rack. The seller has covered approximately 9,000 miles with since acquiring it and states that it has been reliable under their ownership. Power comes from a B16A inline-four paired to a 3-speed manual gearbox, and service performed within the past years includes new motor mounts, belts, battery, and a restored radiator. This Duett is now being offered with records from recent service and a clean British Columbia title in the seller’s name. The 445 Duett came in either wagon or steel-sided delivery van configurations and shares underpinnings with Volvo’s PV444/544 coupes. Sometime prior to importation, the gray and beige exterior was refinished. Much of the trim and chrome appear to be original, and seller describes the paint as presentable. Color-matched steel wheels wear unrestored hubcaps. The spare tire is located under the trunk floor and accessed behind the license plate panel. The interior retains its original Gray and Red color combination (213-150). Oil pressure and battery voltage are displayed to the left of the steering column, and engine temperature and fuel level are shown on the right. The dashboard, wheel, and instruments show to be well preserved, and the seller indicates that the light, wipers, and heater work as intended. The rear seats fold down flat and open up the wood-lined rear compartment to 100 cubic feet of load space. The 1,600cc B16 single-carb inline-four uses a cast-iron block and cylinder head. A new 6-volt battery was installed last year and the original radiator has been serviced by Nor-West radiators in North Vancouver, while other required service work, including the installation of a new accessory belt and motor mounts, have been performed at N&M Motors. Some images of the undercarriage are viewable in the gallery below and the seller indicates that thick undercoating was applied by the previous owner.
