This just in from the buyer of the 1990 Volvo 740 Wagon 16V 4-Speed w/ Overdrive that was listed on BaT Auctions 2/15/18 (link): “We had the Volvo shipped from SF to NYC. We lost our old 740 to a timing belt failure at 500k miles and lamented its absence and could not find a suitable replacement. Although 2 years older than our old Volvo (which was a 1992), our new car is in infinitely better condition. We squeezed 15 years out of the old car (which I bought used for a song) and I suspect the new one will last indefinitely! The 16 valve engine is an enormous difference over our old 740 and, with the 4 speed plus overdrive, makes the car fun to drive, rather than merely practical.
