This 1967 Saab 95 was reportedly sold new in California and spent two decades in storage before being refurbished circa 2010. Work included a repaint in Mercedes Wine Red Metallic, as well as reupholstering the interior with Palomino MB-Tex. Power is from a four-stroke 1.5-liter V4, which was reportedly rebuilt and is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Other equipment includes a factory roof rack, later-model seats, and a set of aluminum “soccer ball” wheels. The refurbishment was carried out under a previous owner in Northern California, and approximately 550 miles have been added since the work was completed in 2012. The current owner acquired this Saab 95 three years ago and has since added just 100 miles. She is being represented in this auction by the seller, who is now offering the car with a clear North Carolina title.
The glass-out repaint was performed by Igor Buon in Wine Red Metallic, a color pulled from a Mercedes-Benz color code. Re-plated or renewed chrome bumpers and stainless trim were installed during reassembly. Closeups of the panel fit and finish are provided in the gallery below.
The 15″ aluminum “soccer ball” wheels from a Saab Sonett have polished spokes and inlays painted to match the exterior. 165-series Michelin tires are installed at each corner. A set of factory-style mud flaps is also fitted along with a roof rack.
Later-model Saab 95/96 front seats with headrests have been installed, and Palomino MB-Tex and simulated bamboo rattan upholstery line the cabin.
The dash has been finished to match the exterior and houses a set of factory gauges, as well as a clock and stereo. Closeups of the two-spoke steering wheel, replacement headliner, sun visors, and footwells are provided in the gallery below. Approximately 550 miles are shown on the odometer, which was reset during the refurbishment.
The 3-door 95 features a fold-down rear bench, as well as a rear-facing jump seat and storage compartment.
The 1.5-liter Ford V4 has been rebuilt, and the four-speed manual gearbox was resealed. Refurbishment work also included installation of a reconditioned starter, alternator, water pump, drive axles, and steering rack. Closeups of the engine compartment, headlight buckets, and front control arm mounts are provided in the gallery below. A routine fluid change was performed earlier this year.
The brake system benefits from a rebuilt master cylinder, calipers, and wheel cylinders. Replacement rotors, pads, and shoes have also been installed. Additional photos of the underside are attached in the gallery.
