This 1986 Volvo 240 DL sedan shows registration history in California and is finished in beige over matching cloth. Now showing 84k miles, the car is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and 14″ steel wheels with aerodynamic covers in addition to heated front seats, air conditioning, and a Kenwood Bluetooth stereo. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this 240 sedan is offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, maintenance logs, spare parts, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in beige and features mudguards, a rear window defroster, and black mirror caps and window trim. The selling dealer notes evidence of paintwork on the right rear quarter panel along with a dent on the trunk lid and corrosion near the bottom corners of the windshield.

The 14″ steel wheels feature full Volvo covers and are mounted with 185/70 Goodyear Integrity tires that were manufactured in 2014. The car was factory equipped with power steering as well as a MacPherson strut front suspension and a live rear axle carried by longitudinal control arms and torque rods with coil springs. Stopping is provided by power-assisted front and rear discs.

The heated front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in beige cloth, and interior appointments include a Kenwood Bluetooth stereo, a locking glovebox, and manual-crank windows. The air conditioning system was serviced around 83k miles and recharged with R134a refrigerant. The dashboard is cracked and wears a carpet mat. The selling dealer notes that the HVAC fan can intermittently be noisy, and a replacement new HVAC fan motor is included in the sale.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an inoperative Quartz clock, and functional gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 84k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 2.3-liter inline-four was factory rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. The crankshaft seal, MAF sensor, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and fuel pump and lines were reportedly replaced under previous ownership. The timing belt was changed at approximately 80k miles and the alternator and oil pressure sending unit were replaced around 83k miles.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with an overdrive top gear. The selling dealer says that the oxygen sensor and exhaust components were replaced under previous ownership. The catalytic converter was replaced in 2022, and the transmission fluid was flushed at approximately 83k miles. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows that the car was designated a gross polluter by the state of California in August 2022. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in March 2023.
