Acquired by the seller soon after it was featured on BaT in August 2013, the car was subsequently outfitted for road rallying and driven in events around the world, such as the 2014 1000 Millas in Argentina, the 2,400-mile HERO-ERA Baltic Classic in 2017, and the 2,800-mile HERO-ERA Adriatic Adventure in 2019. It has also participated in the Copperstate 1000 rally in Arizona and the Mountain Mille rally in West Virginia. A five-speed manual transmission, dual Weber 40 DCOE carburetors, driving lights, 15” steel wheels, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and various rallying instruments have been installed under current ownership. This PV544 rally car is now offered at no reserve with spare parts and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The body was refurbished and repainted in ivory under prior ownership, and the seller added blue and yellow vinyl stripes along with other decals around the car. The bumpers were removed, and a light bar was installed along with a hinged fuel filler, front and rear tow hooks, and leather hood and trunk lid straps. Bubbling paint, chips, corrosion, and other blemishes around the car can be viewed in the image gallery below.
Black 15” steel wheels are wrapped in 185/60 Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires that were mounted in 2019. The car rides on “sport” coil springs with IPD front and rear sway bars, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. Stainless-steel braided brake hoses were installed under current ownership, and the front suspension bushings were replaced.
The cabin houses black bucket seats sourced from an FC Mazda RX-7, and they are joined by a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. The rear seat was removed by the seller, and blue carpets line the rearward portion of the cabin. An ATB VH Trip tripmeter and La Solution average speed calculator have been mounted on the driveshaft tunnel, and a Heuer stopwatch, a Monit rally computer, and dual 12-volt power outlets have been added to the dash.
The Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of an engine-turned bezel housing an AutoMeter 140-mph GPS speedometer as well as a VDO 7k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 2,400 miles. The seller states that the car has been driven approximately 8k miles under their ownership, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter B20 inline-four was installed under prior ownership, and dual Weber 40 DCOE carburetors were added by the seller along with a ported intake manifold. The electrical system has been converted to 12-volt operation.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that was installed at Amazon Cars UK in 2019. The driveshaft center support bearing was also replaced under current ownership.
